Government relations and public affairs professional, John Stanford, has vast experience with leading multi-year advocacy and awareness campaigns. He focuses on expressing the objectives of his clients to government stakeholders in order to drive policy formation.John is a leader of Prism Group’s Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy practice and he expands on experience operationalizing external relations for a broad assortment of clients. John also offers his strategic consulting services for businesses within the federal marketplace and he is the Executive Director for Small Business Roundtable, which is a compilation of top small business organizations.

John frequently writes about policies that have an impact on the business community and he has gone before the U.S. Congress to testify on the impact that regulatory burden has on small businesses. He has been acknowledged in the Congressional Record, by chambers of commerce and state legislatures because of his communication efforts and his advocacy. Before Prism Group, John gained experience working on Capitol Hill, a Presidential and Senate campaign, the British Houses of Parliament and with non-profit organizations.

John is from Denver, CO and he graduated from the College of William & Mary, with a B.A. in Government and with an M. Ed. in Secondary Education. Before he returned to Washington, John was part of Teach for America in Phoenix, Arizona. At present, he sits on the DC board of his alma mater.
